Can't Connect to the Internet with Ubuntu 9.10

If anyone is having problems connecting to the internet or router and are using Ubuntu 9 - save yourself tons of time and make sure your hardware is compatible. I am a complete newb but I tried for about 15 hours to configure Ubuntu to connect to...
